During FACE Time at 10:10 a.m. in the Meeting Room the Adult Discussion group will focus on ways to help grow a child’s faith. It’s for parents, grandparents and anyone who nurtures a child’s faith. Dineen Dowling will lead the class. FaithKids will be held, and the nursery will be available, during the discussion.

Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

BE A PART OF THIS INTERFAITH EVENT!!!

 

Join our collaborative partners, New Hope Baptist Church, St. Hilary Catholic Church and Temple Israel for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event at 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, at New Hope Baptist Church, 1706 Hawkins Ave., Akron.

The service will feature multi-talented Lamar Hylton, PhD., Kent State University’s Dean of Students who has an incredibly rich baritone voice trained for opera. He is accustomed to performing on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The program also will feature choir members from each faith community, a mime ministry from New Hope Baptist Church, recitations by children/youth from each congregation, a saxophone solo by Ashton Blake and Building Dreams African Drumming led by “Baba” David Coleman.

Reservations are NO LONGER being received for the meal since the seating limit has been reached. If you made a reservation for the meal and have not yet given the pre-paid donation of $10 per adult (ages 18 and under are FREE), please do so today. Label cash or checks “Jan. 20 Meal” and place them in the Church Office mailbox next to Pastor Jean’s office.
